Note – some have believed that there was another son William Leslie McKenzie b. 1919 d. 1.7.1942 – who was said to have died at sea in the South West Pacific – entry on Australian War Memorial’s Roll of Honour, presumably on the Montevideo Maru, which had about 1000 POW’s aboard. However it appears that it was William Leslie Everingham who died on 1.7.1942 – the son of Irene McKenzie nee Everingham’s brother Arthur – who also lived at Narromine – 1, 2, 3, . The question still remains – was there another son William Leslie McKenzie ?
